Here, you can see all my tips on capturing the perfect reference photo for your pet portrait and how to order one from me. Once you’ve contacted me, I will get back to you as soon as possible so we can discuss everything you would like in your portrait.
Step 1 – Knowing what you want
Celebrate your beloved pet with a one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted portrait! My mixed-media pet portraits bring out the personality and charm of your furry (or feathered or scaly!) friend in a truly special way. Whether you’re looking for a heartfelt gift or a personal tribute, these custom pieces are a timeless way to honour the companions who mean so much to us.
Each portrait is carefully created using a blend of high-quality materials, ensuring depth, texture, and character in every piece. You can choose from three sizes to best fit your space:
📏 A5 (5.8 x 8.3 inches) – A perfect small keepsake or gift
📏 A4 (8.3 x 11.7 inches) – A great balance of detail and display size
📏 A3 (11.7 x 16.5 inches) – A striking statement piece for any wall
Step 2 – Getting the perfect reference
An excellent reference photo is key to capturing your pet’s unique personality and details in their portrait. Here’s how to get the best shot:
📸 Good Lighting – Natural daylight is best! Avoid harsh shadows or artificial lighting that can distort colours.
📸 Clear & Sharp – A high-resolution photo ensures I can see fine details like fur texture and eye colour.
📸 Eye-Level Angle – Photos taken at your pet’s eye level create a more personal and lifelike portrait.
📸 True Colors – Make sure the photo accurately represents their real fur and eye colour.
The better the photo, the more lifelike and detailed your portrait will be! If you’re unsure, feel free to send a few options, and I’ll help you choose the best one.
